Belarus’ broad money supply down 0.05% in Nov 2020 to Br49.345bn

Belarus’ broad money supply decreased by 0.05% month on month in November 2020 to Br49.345 billion ($19.48bn) as of December 1, 2020, Belarus’ monetary authorities said in an online report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Deposits in foreign exchange increased by 3.5% in Nov 2020 to Br27.94 billion ($11.03bn) as of Dec 1, 2020. The proportion of deposits in foreign exchange was at 56.62% as of Dec 1, 2020 against 58.05% as of Nov 1, 2020 and 55.51% as of Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total money supply, cash in circulation (M0 aggregate) decreased by 0.16% month on month in Nov 2020 to Br4.015 billion ($1.58bn) as of Dec 1, 2020. The proportion of cash in circulation made up 8.14% as of Dec 1, 2020 against 8.14% as of Nov 1, 2020 and 7.64% as of Jan 1, 2020 </p> <p> </p> <p> M1 aggregate, which includes cash and current Belarusian ruble deposits with banks, increased by 3.63% month on month in Oct 2020 to Br9.656 billion ($3.81bn) as of Dec 1, 2020. M1 aggregate accounted for 19.57% of broad money supply as of Dec 1, 2020 (18.87% as of Nov 1, 2020, 21.18% as of Jan 1, 2020). </p> <p> </p> <p> Ruble money supply (M2* aggregate), which includes M1 and fixed-period ruble securities outside bank circulation, increased by 3.5% month on month in Nov 2020 to Br19.838 billion ($7.83bn).
