Belarus’ beer output down 6% in 2020 to 43.01m dal

Belarus’ beer output decreased by 6% on the year in January-December 2020 to 43.01 million decaliters (dal), Belarus’ National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> In December 2020 alone, beer output was down 7% year on year, up 3.5% from November 2020 to 3.116 million dal. </p> <p> </p> <p> Barley malt output stood at 136,900 tonnes in 2020, up 1.3% year on year. In December alone, malt output totaled 11,600 tonnes, down 0.3% year on year, down 4.3% against Dec 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> As of Jan 1, 2021, beer stocks amounted to 1.677 million decaliters (48.3% of average monthly output). Compared with Dec 1, 2020, the stocks decreased by 14.4%. </p> <p> </p> <p> Malt inventories amounted to 21,900 tonnes as of Jan 1, 2021 (120% of average monthly output), up 8.8% against Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Beer sales increased in 2020 by 4.8% year on year to 41.134 million dal.
