Belarus’ average wage up 1.2% in Nov 2020 to Br1,300.5

Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms stood at 1,300.5 Belarusian rubles (Br) in November 2020, or U.S. $502.3 at the monthly average rate of the National Bank, up 1.2% month on month, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> In real terms (adjusted for the increase in consumer prices), the average monthly wage grew by 9% year on year in Nov 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Regionally, Minsk led in Nov with the average wage of Вr1,839.3 ($710.4), up 1.8% month on month. Minsk Oblast reported Br1,297.4 ($501.1), down 0.2%; Gomel Oblast – Br1,141.5 ($440.9), up 0.95%; Mogilev Oblast - Br1,065.2 ($411.4), up 1.8%; Vitebsk Oblast - Br1,080 ($417.1), up 0.98%; Brest Oblast - Br1,117.7 ($431.7), up 0.98%; Grodno Oblast - Br1,128.4 ($435.8), up 1.24%. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Nov 2020, the average wage in manufacturing industries stood at Br1,349.7 ($521.3), down 0.9% month on month; construction – Br1,433.4 ($553.6), down 0.62%; forestry, fishery and agriculture – Br950.3 ($367), down 0.96%; retail trade – Br1,009.5 ($389), up 0.24%; education – Br888.3 ($343.1) up 2.4%; health care – Br1,353.2 ($522.7), up 8%. </p> <p> </p> <p> To compare, the average monthly wage in Belarus’ IT industry in Nov 2020 stood at Br5,601.6 ($2,164), up 2.6% month on month; banking and finance – Br1,716.1 ($662.8), down 2.9%.
