Belarus appeal to foreign partners as foothold to promote trade with EEU states – Lukashenko

Belarus can be seen by foreign partners as a platform to develop trade with the EEU countries, especially with Russia, with which the country is implementing an ambitious integration project that opens up new opportunities for business, science and other sectors. </p> <p> President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to this effect on 30 September during an official ceremony for ambassadors of Armenia, Azerbaijan, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Tunisia and the Republic of South Africa to present their credentials. </p> <p> </p> <p> As an industrial hub, Belarus can supply agricultural products, mining equipment, haulers, potash fertilizers, petrochemicals, and pharmaceutical products. “Our companies are ready to offer their scientific, technological and production solutions. They are ready to share their successful experience in modernization of energy, transport and communication sectors, development of full-cycle agricultural projects on a turnkey basis. Our universities can provide training in various in-demand majors, including industry, agriculture and healthcare,” Lukashenko said. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The start of your diplomatic service here coincides with important transformations in Belarus. We are not talking about a dramatic and comprehensive change of priorities. This is primarily a domestic affair. The time is ripe for change needed to maintain momentum in social development and to adjust the domestic and foreign policy in the country,” Lukashenko said. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Today Belarus intends to build friendly relations first of all with the states that respect its sovereignty and independence,” Lukashenko said.
