Belarus’ annual inflation slows down to 10.3% in Nov 2021 - NBB

Annual inflation in Belarus decelerated to 10.3% in Nov 2021 from 10.5% in Oct 2021, reads the monthly inflation review released by the National Bank of Belarus (NBB). </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the NBB review, core inflation stood at 9.9% yoy in Nov 2021 (9.6% yoy in Oct 2021). </p> <p> </p> <p> The increase in administered prices and tariffs stood at 9.8% in Nov 2021 (at 10.7% in Oct 2021); 10.4% yoy in Sep 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Seasonal prices (fruit and vegetables) decreased by 20.7% year on year in Nov 2021 to compare with a 24.8% y-o-y increase in Sep 2021; 14.2% yoy in Aug 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The year-on-year aggregate trend inflation rate was at 8.4% yoy in Nov 2021 (8.4% yoy in Oct 2021); 8.6% yoy in Sep 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> In November 2021, the maximum and minimum growth rates of free prices and tariffs in annual terms were, in particular, minus 1% for coffee; minus 0.3% for table salt; +0.1% for flour; +1.2% for one-room flat rent from individuals and tea; +16.1% for confectionery; +16.2% for TV and radio products; +18.5% for carpets and rugs; +23.6% for tourist services; +25.6% for mayonnaise. </p> <p> </p> <p> The maximum and minimum annual growth rates of regulated prices and tariffs in November 2021 were, in particular, minus 6.5% for car insurance; +0.8% for firewood and peat, +1.7% for communication services; +5.6% for spirits; +12.8% for tobacco products; +16.8% for pharmaceuticals; +17.1% for fuel and +20.8% for home security services.
