Belarus amends law on advertising
<p> MINSK, Jan 11 - PrimePress. Law No. 82-З of January 4, 2021 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on January 7, 2021 amended Belarus’ law on advertising. </p> <p> </p> <p> It is no longer required to produce advertising, only involving organizations and citizens of Belarus, only using images of Belarusian citizens. </p> <p> </p> <p> Advertisements that contain information about a foreign organization is only allowed if its legal status is confirmed. </p> <p> </p> <p> The law bans advertising of medicines, medical devices, medical equipment, biologically active additives, lotteries, promotional game, and other promotional activities and services related to the raising and use of funds of citizens in radio and TV programs for children. </p> <p> </p> <p> The law prohibits the volume of sound higher than the sound of the TV program during which the advertisement is broadcasted. </p> <p> </p> <p> No advertising may be put on special purpose vehicles, including school buses, vehicles that transport money and/or valuables, hazardous materials, public utility and road maintenance vehicles, and vehicles with diagonal white stripes on the sides. It is allowed to place the name of the organization, trademark, service mark, emblem and telephone number on them. </p> <p> </p> <p> Operable vehicles that are out of use for over six months, including independent trailers cannot be used for advertising. </p> <p> </p> <p> Audio advertising in public transport, except for social advertising, is prohibited. </p> <p> </p> <p> The law reduces the list of medical advertising that must be approved by the Ministry of Health of Belarus, and lifts the ban on advertising discounts on drugs, medical devices, medical equipment and biologically active supplements. </p> <p> </p> <p> The law prohibits advertising of tobacco-free nicotine-containing products, free (gratuitous) distribution of these products and liquids for electronic smoking devices, except for online advertising on the websites of their manufacturers and importers. </p> <p> </p> <p> The law establishes requirements for advertising of employment and study of Belarusian nationals outside the country, specifies requirements for advertising of real estate services, securities and services related to raising and use of funds of organizations and/or individuals. </p> <p> </p> <p> Main provisions of the law come into force six months after its official publication.
