Belarus’ Agriculture Ministry to distribute tariff quotas on pork and poultry imports by Jan 5, 2021
<p> MINSK, Dec 9 - PrimePress. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus will distribute 100% of tariff quotas for pork and poultry imports to Belarus by January 5, 2021, as per government resolution No.704 of December 7, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on December 9, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> The quotas will be distributed between legal entities and individual entrepreneurs who will apply for tariff quotas for goods of their own production before December 16, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Agriculture Ministry and regional authorities will analyze the domestic market of meat products and supplies of pork and poultry to Belarus in 2021. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade will issue import licenses and will notify the Agriculture Ministry and the Foreign Ministry of the issued licenses. </p> <p> </p> <p> The resolution comes into force upon its official publication. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the Eurasian Economic Commission set the quotas on the import of pork and poultry meat for Belarus in 2021 at the level of 2020: pork – 10,000 tonnes; boned chicken meat – 10,000 tonnes; boned turkey meat – 900 tonnes.
