Belarus accounts for 52.84% of Ukraine’s bitumen market in July, up 4.84pp

Belarus accounted for 52.84% of bitumen imported by Ukraine in July 2021, according to the portal еnkorr with reference to the data of Consulting Group A-95 (Ukraine). </p> <p> </p> <p> In July 2021, Ukraine imported 140.4 thousand tons of paving bitumen. The largest amount of resources was supplied from Belarus – 74.2 thousand tons. </p> <p> </p> <p> The largest supplier of Belarusian bitumen was the company Cantarell Ukraine, which imported 26.9 thousand tons, Alliance Energo Trade (AET) and Bitex supplied 17.8 thousand tons and 6.1 tons, respectively. </p> <p> </p> <p> A-95 experts forecast that bitumen consumption in Ukraine could reach 1.5m tonnes in 2021, compared to 1.1m tonnes in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Road bitumen is supplied to Ukraine by Belarusian oil refineries - Naftan (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) and Mozyr Oil Refinery (Gomel Oblast), as well as the Belarusian production unitary enterprise Neftebitumny Zavod (Minsk Oblast). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus increased road bitumen export to Ukraine in 2020 by 77% on the year to 582,600 tonnes. In 2020, Ukraine imported 860,200 tonnes of road bitumen from all countries, twice as much as in 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Petroleum bitumen is produced from a component of commercial fuel oil - tar and is used as the main component for the production of asphalt concrete.
