Belarus accounts for 36% of diesel fuel imported by Ukraine in Jan-Sep 2021

State oil exporter Belarusian Oil Company CJSC (BelOil) increased diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine by 36% year on year in Jan-Sep 2021 to 2.03 million tonnes, enkorr reports, citing A-95 Consulting Group (Ukraine). </p> <p> </p> <p> As a result, the share of Belarus’ diesel supplies in Ukraine’s diesel import increased by 9pp to 36%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The increase in supplies from Belarus occurred against the backdrop of a halt in imports of diesel fuel via the Prikarpat-Zapadtrans pipeline in February 2021. As a result, supplies of diesel fuel to Ukraine from Russia dropped by 32% year on year in January-September 2021 to 1.327 million tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Overall, imports of diesel fuel to Ukraine decreased by 3.9% year on year in Jan-Sep 2021 to 2.78m tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, BelOil reduced diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine by 10.2% year on year in 2020 to 2.22 million tonnes.
