Azerbaijan’s SOCAR plans to supply oil to Belarus in 2021

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan SOCAR plans to supply oil to Belarus during 2021, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the official representative of the Azerbaijani company Ibrahim Akhmedov. </p> <p> </p> <p> "As you know, at the end of last year we signed a one-year contract. It follows that oil supplies to Belarus will presumably be carried out within a year," Akhmedov said. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, SOCAR Trading, the trading subdivision of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), plans to fulfill its contractual obligations to deliver to Belarus about 1 million tonnes of crude oil in 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> SOCAR delivered 90,000 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil to Belarus on February 5, 2021 from Sups. Further supplies are yet a matter of talks, he said. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, SOCAR supplied 1.038 million tonnes of oil in 10 sea tankers via the Odessa port (Ukraine) and the Odessa-Brody pipeline to the Mozyr Oil Refinery (Gomel Oblast), including 755,000 tonnes of Azeri Light oil and about 283,000 tonnes of oil bought from oil traders. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Ukrtransnafta (Ukraine) extended the contract with the Belarusian Oil Company (BelOil, special exporter of Belarusian oil products) on supplies of Azerbaijani oil to Belarus in 2021. Ukrtransnafta CEO Mykola Gavrilenko said that the contract terms for 2021 remained unchanged. End </p>
