The All-Belarusian People’s Assembly will take place in early 2021, possibly in January or February, says Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> The president will soon issue a decree to appoint an organizing committee, which will make proposals on the date, format and agenda of the Assembly. “We expect it to be held in early 2021, possibly in January or February. The time and format may be reconsidered to meet anti-epidemic requirements,” BelTA state newswire quotes Golovchenko as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> The agenda is likely to comprise two large-scale thematic blocks: socio-economic and socio-political development of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> The All-Belarusian People’s Assembly is a regular event held once in five years. The delegates usually praise the authorities for successes of the previous five years, and determine the main areas and targets of national development for the next five years. The first Assembly was held in 1996. Lukashenko’s first constitutional reform was approved, and his powers expanded greatly.
