Agritech startup OneSoil raises $5 million from foreign venture capitalists

Agritech startup OneSoil OneSoil, a resident of the Hi-Tech Park (HTP), has attracted $5 million fr om foreign venture capitalists to enter new markets and strengthen its international status, the HTP press service said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The company reportedly attracted $4 million from Almaz Capital, an international venture capital fund headquartered in Silicon Valley (USA), and $1 million from PortfoLion, a Hungarian venture capital firm. The deal took place in the Swiss jurisdiction wh ere the startup is headquartered. </p> <p> </p> <p> OneSoil has been an HTP resident since 2018. The company develops applications for precision farming with the ability to monitor fields and crops remotely. Currently, 5% of the world's arable land is registered in OneSoil apps. More than 200,000 farmers and agricultural professionals from 180 countries regularly use the OneSoil mobile and web app. The company also assists agribusinesses with statistics and analytics on demand. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park was established by Presidential Decree #12 of September 22, 2005 in order to create favourable conditions for the development of software, information and communication technologies aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the national economy. The legal regime of the HTP is valid on the entire territory of Belarus. The main consumers of products and services developed by HTP residents are the United States and EU countries - they account for about 90% of all exports. The top five partner countries are the United States, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Russia. As of 1 January 2021, there were 1,021,000 registered HTP residents with 70,000 employees.
