Russia ups oil supplies to Belarus by 34% in Jan-Jun 2021 to 6.224m tonnes – CDC

Russian companies increased oil supplies to Belarus in January-June 2021 by 34% year on year to 6.224 million tonnes, the Central Dispatch Centre (CDC) of the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Russian Federation said in a statistical report. <br> <br> According to the CDC, the export of Russian oil to Belarus fell in June 2021 by 62.7% against June 2020 to 374,700 tonnes.<br> <br> As previously reported, Naftan JSC (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) has been under sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury since June 3, 2021. Sources in major Russian companies say they refused to work with Naftan. <br> <br> Naftan Vice CEO for Ideology and Social Affairs Sergei Yevtushik told Sputnik Belarus on June 23 that only Transneft (Russian oil mains operator) is named on the schedule of export oil supplies for the third quarter of 2021 planned by the Energy Ministry of Russia, and the refinery expected to process about 2 million tonnes of oil in the third quarter.<br> <br> Transneft Spokesman Igor Demin called the statements by Naftan representatives, who claimed that Transneft was supplying oil to the refinery “incompetent.” Transneft is being guided by the requests of Russian oil companies for oil transportation, and there were no such requests for Naftan in the third quarter, he said.<br> <br> In 2020, Russian companies reduced oil supplies to Belarus by 24.1% compared to 2019, to 13.35 million tons.
