MAZ selects general contractor for construction of Br262.713m worth bus plant in Minsk

Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) JSC, managing company of BELAVTOMAZ Holding, will hold a tender on August 9, 2021 to select a general contractor for the construction of a bus plant at 2 Sotsialisticheskaya St., Minsk, at an estimated cost of Br262.713 million ($102.82 million at the rate of National Bank of Belarus). The period of works is 36 months, including 30 months of the construction time.<br> <br> MAZ CEO Valery Ivankovich said earlier that the company had drafted a new bus plant, which would double passenger vehicles output capacity and enhance the bus manufacture technology of the third and fourth generations in the future. The payback period is four years after the commissioning.<br> <br> The Minsk Automobile Plant began operations in 1947; incorporated in 2008; 100% of its shares are owned by the state. The company produces 500 models and modifications of high-sided and all-wheel drive vehicles, dump trucks, chassis, tractors, timber trucks, trailers and semi-trailers, cranes, special equipment, and about 15 bus models.
