Belorusneft’s electricity output down 1% in Jan-May 2021 to 167.327m kWh

Belorusneft State Production Association (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast) reduced electric energy output in January-May 2021 by 1% year on year to 167.327 million kWh, the company told PrimePress.<br> <br> Output of electricity produced from renewable sources in Jan-May 2021 amounted to 26.087 million kWh, down 8.2% against Jan-May 2020.<br> <br> Belorusneft consumed about 75% of the generated electricity and supplied the rest to Belenergo facilities.<br> <br> Belorusneft is developing its own electricity production based on the local type of fuel–associated petroleum gas and solar energy. The Belarusian Gas Processing Plant (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast), which is part of Belorusneft, is the largest power generating company of the country, operating with APG and solar energy. The capacity of Belorusneft’s power plants totals 104.2 MW, including 59 MW of solar stations.<br> <br> As reported, Belorusneft increased electricity output in 2020 by 2.57% year on year to 413.8 million kWh. Belorusneft’s subdivisions’ total demand for electricity in 2020 was about 430 million kWh. Rechitsaneft, the oil and gas production department of Belorusneft, which consumed about 228 million kWh in 2020, remains the major consumer of electric energy.<br> <br> Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in exploration works, oil extraction, gas processing, and offers a wide range of seismic exploration operations. <br> Belorusneft provides oil extraction services in Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador, facilitates crude supplies to the Belarusian oil refineries (Mozyr Oil Refinery, Gomel Oblast, and Naftan OJSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) on a give-and-take basis.
