Belorusneft discovers 2.5m tonnes of oil in two new deposits in Belarus

Belorusneft state concern (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast) has discovered two new oil fields in Belarus with estimated total reserves of over 2.5 million tonnes, the company reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Izbyn and North Omelkovshina deposits are located in the central structural zone of the Pripyat Trough (Khoyniki District, Gomel Oblast). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus currently numbers 79 oil fields; 61 fields are under development. </p> <p> </p> <p> As reported, Belorusneft plans to increase new oil reserves in 2020 to 1.71 million tonnes. In 2020, the company will conduct 3D seismic exploration in the area of 380 square kilometers.
