Belarus’ road bitumen supply to Ukraine up 50% in Jan-Jun 2021 to 228,400 tonnes

Belarus increased supplies of road bitumen to Ukraine by 50% year on year in January-June 2021 to 228,400 tonnes, еnkorr portal reports, citing Consulting Group A-95 (Ukraine).<br> <br> Belarus accounted for 48% of the Ukrainian bitumen market in January-June 2021. The balance of the Ukrainian market of road bitumen in January-June 2021 amounted to 477,000 tonnes, which is 50% higher than in January-June 2020.<br> <br> In January-June 2021, Ukraine increased the import of road bitumen by 85% year on year to 365,600 tonnes.<br> <br> According to A-95, Ukraine’s consumption of bitumen in 2021 may reach 1.5 million tonnes given the announced construction of 4,500 kilometers of roads, the cost of which is estimated at 98 billion hryvnas.<br> <br> Road bitumen is supplied to Ukraine by the Belarusian refineries (Naftan JSC, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast, and Mozyr Oil Refinery JSC (Gomel Oblast) and Belarusian Neftebitumen Plant (Minsk Oblast). Belarus increased supplies of road bitumen to Ukraine in 2020 by 77% in 2019 to 582,600 tonnes. Ukraine doubled the import of road bitumen year on year in 2020 to 860,200 tonnes. End<br> <br>
