Belarus’ export of cheese, cottage cheese up 14.2% in Jan-May 2021 to 120,900 tonnes

Belarus increased the export of cheese and cottage cheese in Jan-May 2021 by 14.2% year on year to 120,900 tonnes, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat).<br> <br> The export of cheese and cottage cheese increased in Jan-May 2021 in monetary terms by 9.2% to $467.015 million. Russia accounted for 113,300 tonnes (up 13% year on year) worth $437.037 million (up 8.3%).<br> <br> The export of condensed and dried milk and cream increased in Jan-May 2021 by 17.7% to 83,993 tonnes; in monetary terms – up 22.3% to $201.236 million. Supplies to Russia decreased by 7.7% to 45,590 tonnes worth $105.99 million (down 4.5%).<br> <br> The export of butter increased in Jan-May 2021 by 13.2% to 36,097 tonnes in physical terms and by 9.2% to $169.944 million in monetary terms. Russia accounted for 31,192 tonnes (up 5.6%) worth $147.549 million (up 2.5%).<br> <br> The export of non-condensed milk and cream decreased in Jan-May 2021 by 22.1% year on year to 80,700 tonnes. In monetary terms, the export decreased by 15.7% to $67.324 million. Russia was supplied with 69,661 tonnes (down 29.1%) worth $60.88 million (down 20.6%). <br> <br> The export of buttermilk, yogurt and kefir decreased by 1.8% year on year in Jan-May 2021 to 55,667 tonnes.
