Belarus’ diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine up 51% in Jan-Jun 2021 to 1.24m tonnes

State oil exporter Belarusian Oil Company CJSC (BelOil) increased diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine by 51% year on year in Jan-Jun 2021 to 1.24 million tonnes, enkorr reports, citing A-95 Consulting Group (Ukraine).<br> <br> This increase largely stems from the low comparative base of Jan-Jun 2020 due to crude oil supply cuts in 1Q20.<br> <br> Belarus increased its share in the Ukrainian diesel fuel market in Jan-Jun 2021 by 13 p.p. year on year to 37%.<br> <br> Overall, the import of diesel fuel to Ukraine decreased by 3.9% year on year in Jan-Jun 2021 to 2.78 million tonnes.<br> <br> Diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine from Russia decreased by 40% yoy in Jan-Jun 2021 to 815,700 tonnes primarily due to the termination of the import through the Prykarpat-Zapadtrans pipeline. On February 19, 2021, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine instructed to nationalize the pipeline, after which its operation was suspended.<br> <br> Ukraine’s total market balance of diesel fuel decreased in Jan-Jun 2021 by 2.9% to 3.39 million tonnes; 18% of this amount was supplied by Ukrainian refineries (up 1 p.p. yoy), and 82% was imported (down 1 p.p.).<br> <br> BelOil reduced diesel fuel supplies to Ukraine in 2020 by 10.2% yoy to 2.22 million tonnes.
