A1 provides Belneftegas with SIM-cards for operating in EEU transit system

A1, Belarusian provider of telecom, ICT and content services, supplied Belneftegas ALC with SIM cards to operate in the Belarusian segment of the unified transit system of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU; Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan), A1 reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belneftegaz, the national operator of the Belarusian segment of the EEU transit system, received several thousand SIM-cards, which will be used in navigation devices to seal freight vehicles. Electronic seals will be connected to the system, so that all information on the state of goods and their routes is monitored in real time. </p> <p> </p> <p> A1 SIM cards in electronic seals provide data transfer to the digital core of the transit traceability system (STIGMA platform). Integration of the national system and similar solutions used in other EEU member states will ensure interaction between the customs authorities and thereby speed up customs control and cross-border movement of goods. </p> <p> </p> <p> Established in 1998, A1 unitary enterprise is now fully owned by A1 Telekom Austria Group. The mobile operator A1 started revenue service of its 3G network based on the HSPA/HSPA+ technology in March 2010. The operator made 4G mobile internet services available to customers in March 2019. Until Aug 1, 2019 the company had been operating under the velcom brand. Its subscriber base numbered 4.872 million people as of 1Q20. End </p>
