UNDP, Belarus’ Economy Ministry implement €1.2m Small Towns project in 2018-2020
<p> MINSK, May 8 - PrimePress. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Economy Ministry of Belarus, with Russia’s financial assistance, have implemented a €1.2m project in 2018-2020 to promote business development in small towns. </p> <p> </p> <p> In the framework of the Small Towns project, infrastructure to support small and medium business was created in six towns in Mogilev Oblast and Vitebsk Oblast: Krichev, Mstislavl, Chausy, Gorky, Baran, and Glubokoye. </p> <p> </p> <p> Specialists with small business development expertise are working at all the created platforms now: they provide consultations, help put together business plans, and help find profitable sources of finance. Some entrepreneurship support centers even rent out furnished office premises at preferential rates. Over the course of their operation the entrepreneurship support centers have given over 1,100 free consultations and have helped create 58 new commercial entities. End </p>
