Ukrainian buyers of Belarusian motor fuel make settlements with Belarusian Oil Company (BOC, special exporter of Belarusian oil products) without hindrance after the 3 June 2021 resumption of the U.S. sanctions against enterprises of Belneftekhim concern, the portal enkorr reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The traders says such payments are made through the Ukrainian Alfa Bank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval and the First Ukrainian International Bank (PUMB). </p> <p> </p> <p> “We have accounts in Alfa Bank, and we have not felt any discomfort: the settlements are made in normal mode,” said a BelOil counteragent said. </p> <p> </p> <p> Most buyers of Belarusian fuel have already opened accounts in one of the three banks, which make payments without any obstacles. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, financial institutions in Ukraine have expressed concern that BelOil and Belorusneft state-owned company might fall under the secondary sanctions of the United States. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to enkor, BelOil-Ukraine (a subsidiary of BelOil) negotiated with Ukrainian banks that were willing to service payments regardless of sanctions restrictions, including the possibility of making payments directly from Ukraine to Belarus, bypassing correspondent accounts in Europe and the United States.
