Transneft reduces oil transit through Belarus by 4.5m tonnes in 2020 – Gomeltransneft Druzhba

Transneft PJSC, Russian operator of oil trunk pipelines, reduced oil transit through Belarus by 4.5 million tonnes in 2020, including 1.8 million tonnes toward Poland and 2.7 million tonnes toward Ukraine, Gomeltransneft Druzhba, Belarusian operator of the Druzhba oil trunk pipeline reports on its website. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Gomeltransneft Druzhba ensured unconditional fulfillment of all contractual obligations on oil transportation in 2020. Transneft significantly reduced the actual volume of transit transportation by approximately 4.5 million tonnes, including 1.8 million tonnes toward Poland and 2.7 million tonnes toward Ukraine,” reads statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The company explained earlier that the reduction in transit of Russian oil through Belarus in 2020 by 4.54 million tonnes (9% of the planned 50 million tonnes) was due to an overall decrease in oil production and transportation in Russia under the OPEC+ agreement. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Gomeltransneft Druzhba, the downward trend of Transneft oil transit through Belarus continued in January 2021. Belarus takes this opportunity to perform repair works on the Belarusian section of the pipeline. </p> <p> </p> <p> On January 11-14, works were performed to connect the reconstructed sections of the Mozyr-Brest oil pipeline at the 293th and 321st km, and to repair defects in the linear part. The daily volume of oil pumped toward Poland met the target previously agreed with Transneft in the amount of over 60,000 tonnes per day. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian company underlines that it operates in full compliance with contractual obligations to transport oil by trunk oil pipelines located in the territory of Belarus without complaints from the consumers. “Current activities and investment projects are planned based on Transneft’s transportation forecast,” says Gomeltransneft Druzhba. </p> <p> </p> <p> Gomeltransneft Druzhba OJSC is the operator of the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline engaged in transit of Russian and Kazakhstani oil through Belarus to Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and also supplies oil to the Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC (Gomel Oblast). Pipelines of the Novopolotsk branch only deliver Russian oil to Naftan OJSC (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast).
