Switzerland imposes sanctions against 11 Belarusian legal entities and 17 individuals from 20 December
<p> MINSK, Dec 20 - PrimePress. Switzerland has imposed sanctions targeting 11 Belarusian legal entities and 17 individuals, which will take effect starting 20 December 2021. This was announced by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), TASS news agency reported. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Swiss sanctions list includes the national airline Belavia and the Syrian airline Cham Wings Airlines, Grodno Azot and Belshina, the state-owned company Belorusneft. </p> <p> </p> <p> The sanctions include a ban on the import of a number of goods from Switzerland, as well as the import of oil, oil products and potassium chloride into the country. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian nationals on the list will be banned from entering Switzerland and their bank accounts in Switzerland (if any) will be blocked. </p> <p> </p> <p> On 2 December 2021, the EU, the US, the UK and Canada adopted new sanctions against Belarus. In particular, the U.S. expanded its Belarus sanctions list by including another 20 Belarusian individuals, 12 legal entities and two aircraft; the EU added 17 individuals and 11 legal entities, and the UK imposed sanctions on Belaruskali and eight individuals.
