SvetlogorskKhimvolokno develops production of nonwoven materials to produce face masks and COVID-proof suits

SvetlogorskKhimvolokno (Svetlogorsk Chemical Fibre Plant) has developed production of non-woven materials based on meltblown fabric used for production of personal protective equipment, including protective masks and COVID-proof suits, medical goods, filters and adsorbing materials, the corporate journal said in an article. </p> <p> </p> <p> SvetlogorskKhimvolokno has launched a line for the production of fine fibre with a capacity of up to 400 tonnes per annum at the Artificial Fibre Plant in early 2021. The project was implemented on behalf of the Belarusian government to provide the domestic market with protective materials in connection with the pandemic coronavirus infection. </p> <p> </p> <p> In January-June, the company produced more than 55 tonnes of the material, which was supplied to 10 Belarusian companies to manufacture medical masks and respirators, and also exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Turkey, Estonia and South Korea. </p> <p> </p> <p> Founded in 1964, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno is one of the largest companies of the Belarusian petrochemical industry. The company produces polyester textile threads and artificial fibre. Products by SvetlogorskKhimvolokno are exported to more than 40 countries. End </p>
