Repayment period for Svetlogorsk pulp factory’s $655m debt on Chinese credits extended till 2035
<p> MINSK, May 21 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus extended from Dec 31, 2028 until Dec 31, 2035 to the repayment term of the $654.164 million buyer credit provided by the Export-Import Bank of China and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in accordance with agreement № BLA201104 of June 14, 2011 for the construction of a sulfate bleached pulp plant. This decision was stipulated by government resolution #278 of May 19, 2021, published on the National Legal Internet Portal on May 21. </p> <p> </p> <p> In addition, the $654.164 million loan granted to the Svetlogorsk pulp and cardboard factory was excluded from the list of loans, for which in 2021 Belarusian companies shall receive partial compensation for loan interest payments at the expense of the state budget.
