National Bank raises rates on liquidity withdrawal/support transactions by 0.75 p.p. to 7.5%, 9.5%
<p> MINSK, Apr 20 - PrimePress. The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) on 21 Apr 2021 raised the rates on permanently available operations to withdraw liquidity by 0.75 percentage points to 7.5% per annum, while on permanently available and bilateral transactions to support banks’ current liquidity – also by 0.75 percentage points to 9.5% per annum. This move is in line with NBB resolution #95 of 14 April 2021, the NBB Information and Public Relations Department said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Interest rates for the use of funds in U.S. dollars and euros in SWAP transactions are 0%, while in Russian rubles - 0.15%. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, on April 14 the National Bank decided to raise the refinancing rate by 0.75 percentage points to 8.5% from April 21, 2021. Prior to that, the refinancing rate, as well as the overnight loan and deposit rates, had remained unchanged since 1 July 2020. End </p>
