MTBank makes contract to purchase Belarus’ Idea Bank from Polish Getin Holding S.A. for Br50m

Belarusian MTBank CJSC has made a contract to purchase Belarusian Idea Bank CJSC from the Polish Getin Holding S.A. for Br50 million ($19.2 million at the rate of National Bank of Belarus), the holding reports on its website. </p> <p> </p> <p> The conditions for the transfer of ownership of the shares of Belarusian Idea Bank include, inter alia, that MTBank obtains the consent of Belarus’ antimonopoly authority for the transaction and that there are no material adverse changes to the terms of the sale and purchase agreement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Getin Holding S.A. and Minsk Transit Bank CJSC signed on November 19, 2020 a letter of intent on the acquisition of a 99.999% stake in Idea Bank CJSC by MTBank, preliminary, before January 4, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Getin Holding S.A. started procedures for the sale of Idea Bank in July 2020 after receiving two optional purchase offers. </p> <p> </p> <p> Idea Bank CJSC (Sombelbank until February 2013) was registered in April 2004. Getin Holding S.A. is its principal shareholder. </p> <p> </p> <p> MTBank CJSC was registered by the National Bank of Belarus in March 1994. Its shares are held by Energo Oil CJSC and Belneftegaz ALC, beneficiary owners being Aleksei Oleksin and Inna Oleksina. End </p> <p> </p>
