Merger of two Gomel-based confectioneries announced: Krasny Mozyryanin becomes part of Spartak
<p> MINSK, Apr 8 - PrimePress. Spartak (Gomel) shall act as a management company for OJSC Krasny Mozyryanin (Narovlya, Gomel Oblast), in accordance with a decision taken on Apr 5, the state-owned food industries concern Belgospischeprom said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Spartak is supposed to assist in enhancing the business efficiency of Krasny Mozyryanin by optimizing the product range, modernizing production processes, reducing production costs as a whole. Besides, the merger is expected to enhance the brand awareness of Krasny Mozyryanin in cooperation with the Spartak brand. The merger has been the first step towards establishing a confectionery cluster in Belarus, said Belgospischeprom. </p> <p> </p> <p> Krasny Mozyryanin has been operating since 1913. The basic activity of the factory is production of confectionery products - zephyr, marshmallow, marmalade, sweets. </p> <p> </p> <p> Spartak has been operating since 1924; in 1994 it was transformed into an Open Joint-Stock Company, and in 1998 - into a joint venture.
