MINSK, Apr 2 - PrimePress. The Operative Analytical Centre (OAC) under the President of Belarus will be entitled to decide on suspending or limiting the operation of telecommunications networks and the telecommunications facilities included in them.
This is provided by the draft law “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Telecommunications,” which was considered by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on April 2 in the first reading.
The bill stipulates that the failure of telecommunications operators to meet the requirements of the OAC is recognized as a gross violation of the law on licensing in the field of communications, said the press service of the lower chamber of Belarus’ parliament.
At the same time, it establishes that telecom operators are not subject to measures provided by the legislation on licensing for non-compliance with the licensing requirements and conditions, if such violations were caused by the decisions.
According to the draft law, suspension or limitation of operation of telecommunication networks and the telecommunication facilities included in them by the decision of the OAC is not a legal ground for the telecom operator's liability for losses caused to users of telecommunication services as a result of such actions.
