Japan’s Shimizu Lumber intends to buy timber at BUTB auctions

Japan’s Shimizu Lumber, one of the largest suppliers of timber products to the Japanese market, intends to buy sawn timber at auctions held at the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE), according to the BUCE press-service. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The company has already finished the paperwork and became Japan’s first resident accredited at the BUCE. Shimizu Lumber is engaged in timber harvesting and processing, import and export of lumber products, production of construction materials and furniture, as well as transportation and logistics services,” reads the report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Shimizu Lumber Co., Ltd. was founded in 1950. The main field of activity is production and sale of sawn wood. The company’s head office is located in Kobe, Honshu Island, Japan. The company has representative offices in the US and Canada. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) was established in 2004, the first trading session was held on June 2, 2005.
