Inflation in Belarus at 1.9% in Feb 2021, 3.1% in Jan-Feb
<p> MINSK, Mar 10 - PrimePress. Inflation in Belarus was at 1.9% in February 2021, which adds up to 3.1% in Jan-Feb 2021. Prices rose by 8.7% year on year in Feb 2021; up 8.2% yoy in Jan-Feb 2021, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 1.1% in January 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, food prices increased by 1.8% month on month in Feb 2021 and by 3.3% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Food prices increased by 7.8% year on year in Feb 2021 and by 7.2% year on year in Jan-Feb 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Non-food prices increased by 1.1% month on month in Feb 2021 and by 2.4% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Non-food prices increased by 9.4% year on year in Feb 2021 and by 9.1% year on year in Jan-Feb 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Prices and tariffs on for-fee services increased by 3.4% month on month in Feb 2021; up 3.7% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Prices and tariffs on for-fee services increased by 9.2% year on year in Feb 2021 and by 8.6% year on year in Jan-Feb 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 7.4% in 2020, the official forecast being 5%.
