Inflation in Belarus at 0.7% in Apr 2021, 4.6% in Jan-Apr
<p> MINSK, May 12 - PrimePress. Inflation in Belarus was at 0.7% in April 2021, which adds up to 4.6% in Jan-Apr 2021. Prices rose by 8.6% year on year in Apr 2021; up 8.4% yoy in Jan-Apr 2021, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 1.1% in January 2021, 1.9% in Feb, and 0.7% in Mar. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, food prices increased by 0.9% month on month in Apr 2021 and by 4.6% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Food prices increased by 7.4% year on year in Apr 2021 and by 7.4% year on year in Jan-Apr 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Non-food prices increased by 0.8% month on month in Apr 2021 and by 4.7% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Non-food prices increased by 10.1% year on year in Mar 2021 and by 9.4% year on year in Jan-Apr 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Prices and tariffs on for-fee services increased by 0.4% month on month in Apr 2021; up 4.4% compared to the level of Dec 2020. Prices and tariffs on for-fee services increased by 8.9% year on year in Apr 2021 and by 8.6% year on year in Jan-Apr 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, inflation in Belarus was at 7.4% in 2020, the official forecast being 5%.
