<p> MINSK, Sep 16 - PrimePress. The month-on-month increase in prices for socially important goods in Belarus has remained at 8.4% for the fourth month in a row. This is stated in the commentary of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus on the price situation on the consumer market in August 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The commentary is published on the ministry’s website. </p> <p> </p> <p> MART explains that the annual increase in CPI and socially important goods in the context of higher inflationary expectations is mainly influenced by the cessation of the acceleration in global food prices - in August the year-on-year increase in global food prices was 30.8% compared to 38.3% in May 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> In year-on-year terms, there is a slowdown in the growth of prices (tariffs) for bread and bakery products to 7% (7.8% in July 2021), passenger transport services - to 12% (15.7%); groceries, including: wheat flour to minus 0.5% (minus 0.2%), pasta to 1.8% (2.8%), tea to 3.7% (4.2%), sugar to 10.4% (10.7%), vegetable oil to 53.3% (55.5%); non-food products, including: footwear to 5.6% (6.6%), synthetic detergents to 5.9% (9.1%), electrical goods to 8.7% (9.5%).
