Gomeltransneft Druzhba, the Belarusian operator of the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline, suspended oil transportation in the direction to Poland for 96 hours on June 9 for maintenance work at the Belarusian section of the pipeline, Transneft spokesman Igor Dyomin told reporters on June 9. </p> <p> </p> <p> Transneft is the operator of Russian trunk oil pipelines. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Gomeltransneft stops transportation for 96 hours in the direction of Adamova Zastawa (Poland) from 12 noon today to carry out maintenance work on the Belarusian section of Druzhba,” Prime reports citing Dyomin as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the Polish pipeline operator PERN, oil pumping is due to resume on June 12. “Oil pumping is suspended in accordance with the monthly schedule given by Transneft to customers in Poland and Germany,” the statement said. </p> <p> </p> <p> PERN also noted that “technological interruptions of 1-3 days in deliveries from the east are common and occur almost every month, as reported in monthly delivery plans.” </p> <p> </p> <p> The Druzhba oil pipeline provides oil exports from Russia to Europe via two routes - northern (through Belarus, Poland, Germany, Latvia and Lithuania) and southern (through Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia). </p> <p> </p> <p> Gomeltransneft Druzhba is the operator of the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline, The operator facilitates transits supplies of Russian and Kazakh oil through Belarus to Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, as well as crude supplies to the Mozyr Oil Refinery (Gomel Oblast).
