Gazprom, Belarus govt sign protocol on natural gas prices for 2022
<p> MINSK, Dec 1 - PrimePress. Gazprom and the government of Belarus have signed a protocol specifying the prices Belarus will pay in 2022: $128.52 per 1,000m3, the Energy Ministry of Belarus said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The protocol was inked on 1 Dec 2021 in St Petersburg at the meeting between Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko, and Gazprom Chairman of the Management Committee Alexey Miller. </p> <p> </p> <p> In Oct 2021 Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich informed about an agreement reached at the level of heads of state, which set the 2022 price of natural gas at the level of $128.5 per 1,000 cubic metres. As previously reported, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said in an interview aired by Belarus 1 TV channel on 11 September that Belarus will receive Russian gas in 2022 at a much better price than the current contract, without indexation for dollar inflation. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed on 9 September that the price of gas supplies to Belarus in 2022 will be maintained at the level of 2021 - $128.5 per 1 thousand cubic metres. Putin also said that a document on creating a unified gas market within the Union State would be signed by 1 December 2023. End </p>
