Egypt’s El Sewedy Electric Group eyeing Belarus as product localization site

One of Africa’s largest producers of electrical cable products and electrical transformers, El Sewedy Electric Group (Egypt) is considering the prospects of investing in the industrial sector of Belarus with the possibility of establishing joint ventures with Belarusian companies. This was reported by the press service of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus (NAIP). </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the NAIP, this project was discussed "as part of the meeting of the business community, the NAIP leadership and FEZ Mogilev, which was held in the continuation of the II Belarusian-African Business Forum, held in Minsk”. </p> <p> </p> <p> El Sewedy Electric Group has been operating since 1938. In 2019, the company’s turnover amounted to $2.76 billion.
