EEU to draft agreement on single market of organic agricultural products by late 2022

The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) will develop a draft agreement on a single market of organic agricultural products by the end of 2022. This was announced by chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, in Aug 2021 the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council approved a road map for creating a common market of organic agricultural products in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). A key provision of the agreement will be unification of requirements for the production and labelling of such products, which will be the basis for mutual recognition of organic certification systems. According to expert estimates, today the share of areas involved in organic farming does not exceed 1% of the total arable land in the EEU. End </p>
