Directive: Belarus plans to increase exports to China to $2 billion by 2025

Belarus plans to increase export to China to at least $2 billion by 2025, in accordance with Directive #9 on advancing Belarus-China bilateral relations, which was signed by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on 3 December. </p> <p> </p> <p> The text of the document has been posted on President Alexander’s web site. </p> <p> </p> <p> Trade turnover between Belarus and China in 2020 amounted to $4.6 billion: Belarus exported $776.9 million worth of goods and imported $3.841 billion worth of Chinese goods. </p> <p> </p> <p> In line with the directive, work will be done to simplify and accelerate procedures for access of Belarusian products to the Chinese market. A free trade and investment zone is planned to be established between Belarus and China in 2023, and an agreement on trade in services and investment will be signed. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2022, it is planned to set up a China-Belarus trade export-import company in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone (Minsk Oblast) with the participation of China Merchants Group Limited, which will facilitate the placement of Chinese orders at Belarusian enterprises and consolidation of products in unified warehouses to form an efficient system of supplies of Belarusian goods to China. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the directive, in 2022 a joint venture for advanced meat processing in accordance with Chinese standards with its own raw material base, two shops for primary meat processing and a single technology will be set up on the basis of LLC Vahavyak Plus (Buda Koshelevo, Gomel Oblast) and OJSC Begomlskoye (Dokshitsy District, Vitebsk Oblast) with Chinese partners. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2023, it is planned to establish a joint venture in China for the production of infant formula according to Chinese standards with the participation of JSC Bellakt (Volkovysk, Grodno Oblast).
