BPC raises 2021 contract price with India’s IPL by 13.4% to $280 per tonne of potash

Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) says it has increased the 2021 contract price with India’s IPL by 13.4% compared to the initial contract price to $280 per tonne of potash fertilizers. </p> <p> </p> <p> “As part of the established close collaboration between BPC and India’s largest fertilizer importer, IPL, a new contract price of $280 per tonne on CFR terms for potash supply to the Indian market was set on April 5, 2021,” the statement said. </p> <p> </p> <p> The BPC has referred to the aforementioned agreement as “another step in the harmonious and orderly development of both Indian and global potash markets”. “It should be noted that reaching the said agreement was possible due to a balanced approach to doing business and a common desire for a balanced and prudent development of the potash market as demonstrated by the parties to the agreement,” the BPC press-service said. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the parties sign a new annual contract in Jan 2021 whereby BPC increased the 2021 contract price with India’s IPL by 7.4% compared to the 2020 price to $247 per tonne of potash fertilizers. The previous contract to supply Belarusian potash to the Indian market was signed by BPC and IPL in May 2020 at $230 per tonne. In 2019, the price was $280 per tonne. </p> <p> </p> <p> Established in 2013, BPC acts as Belarus’ designated export trader of potash fertilizers produced by OAO Belaruskali. </p> <p> </p> <p> BPC shareholders are Belaruskali (Soligorsk, Minsk Oblast), Belarusian Railways and state enterprise Beleximgarant. In 2018, the BPC share in global exports of potash fertilizers amounted to 20.5%. The geography of BPC exports covers 133 countries. End </p>
