BelOil’s petrol export to Ukraine up 60% in Jan 2021 to 77,000 tonnes

The Belarusian Oil Company CJSC (BelOil), which controls exports of Belarus’ petroleum products, increased the petrol export to Ukraine by 60% year on year in January 2021 to 77,000 tonnes, enkorr portal reports citing data of the A-95 Consulting Group (Ukraine). </p> <p> </p> <p> OKKO and WOG networks were the leading suppliers of Belarusian petrol in January 2021: 25,800 tonnes (up 150%) and 13,600 tonnes (up 33%), respectively. </p> <p> </p> <p> Ukrainian companies bought around 30,000 tonnes of Belarusian petrol on a spot basis. In particular, BRSM Nafta bought the entire January stock of petrol of Naftan Refinery (Novopolotsk, Vitebsk Oblast) in the amount of 7,000 tonnes and 3,500 tonnes from Mozyr Refinery (Gomel Oblast), having increased purchases by 350% compared with January 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to A-95, the spike in supply dynamics took place because of the low comparative base: in the first quarter of 2020, the import from Belarus halved due to Russian oil supply cuts. </p> <p> </p> <p> Ukraine increased the import of motor petrol market by 28% year on year in January 2021 to 88,800 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, BelOil increased petrol supplies to Ukraine in 2020 by 23.7% from 2019 to 854,500 tonnes. Belarus’ share in the petrol import into Ukraine increased in 2020 by 9 percentage points on the year to 78%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The increase resulted from new terms of sale of Belarusian petrol to Ukrainian traders in a package with diesel fuel under fixed-term contracts for 2020. Earlier, BelOil determined that the share of petrol in package sales should be at least 40% of the declared diesel fuel purchase volume. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian Oil Company CJSC was established in May 2007. Belorusneft owns a 52% stake in the company, Naftan OJSC and Mozyr Oil Refinery OJSC own 24% each.
