BelAZ, the managing company of the BelAZ-Holding holding (Zhodino, Minsk Oblast), will hold an open tender for choose a supplier of 12 Cummins internal combustion engines for BelAZ dump trucks at an estimated cost of $4.5 million, the official procurement website icetrade.by reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> The company will purchase eight Cummins QSK-C2500-PN 467 engines worth $3 million and four Cummins QSK-C2237-PN 405/3 engines worth $1.5 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Residents and non-residents of Belarus are invited to participate in the tender. </p> <p> </p> <p> Proposals will be accepted until June 15, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> BelAZ expects the engines to be delivered in the period from June 15 to December 31, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Belarusian Automobile Plant (BelAZ) was set up in 1948. It is one of the world’s largest producers of automobiles for open cast mines and building significant hydroengineering objects. </p> <p> </p> <p> The company assembles over 200 models of mine trucks with the carrying capacity ranging from 30 to 450 tons, special machines (front loaders, wheel bulldozers, wheel vehicles for metallurgic companies, aircraft haulers, irrigative machinery, automobile dump semitrailers, and consumer goods). </p> <p> Engines for rock handlers are supplied by foreign companies such as Cummins (USA) and Deutz (Germany), less powerful ones are bought from Yaroslavl Automobile Plant and Ural Motor Plant (Russia). </p> <p> </p> <p> The annual output equals 800-900 items. BelAZ produces heavy-duty trucks for open-cast mining in South-East Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. The company controls one-third of the global market of dump trucks.
