Belavia to expand network of agents to sell tickets abroad after disconnection from BSP

Belarus’ national air carrier Belavia will expand its network of agents to sell tickets abroad under direct contracts after the company was disconnected from the BSP settlement system of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the company’s press service told RIA Novosti. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the European Union (EU) included Belavia into the fifth package of EU sanctions on Belarus on 2 December. In the context of these sanctions, IATA suspended Belavia from participation in the IATA Billing and Settlement Programme (BSP) and the Cargo Accounts Settlement System between Airlines and Freight Forwarders (CASS).
