Belarus’ Trade Ministry sets natural gas prices for enterprises and sole proprietors
<p> MINSK, Feb 1 - PrimePress. The Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) of Belarus has set natural gas prices for legal entities and sole proprietors in 2021 (resolution No.5 of January 22, 2021 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on January 30, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Retail prices are set ex VAT for the calculated calorific value of 7,900 kcal per cubic meter and the exchange rate of Br2.5789/$1. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price of 1,000 meters of gas for legal entities and sole proprietors is raised by 22.3% to Br679.07 ($258.57 at the rate of National Bank of Belarus) in 2021 for the consumption of up to 600 million cubic meters in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> For the same consumption in 2020, government-funded organizations and legal entities of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities of Belarus will pay 90% more in 2021 at the rate of Br631.83 ($240.58) per 1,000 cubic meters. </p> <p> </p> <p> If legal entities of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities system use gas to produce thermal energy for households, gas will cost Br410.3 ($156.23, up 23.55%) per 1,000 cubic meters. The same price is set for housing cooperatives and developers that produce thermal energy for households. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price of natural gas for producers of cement, wall blocks, bricks, tiles and other building products of baked clay, ceramic tiles and boards, paper and cardboard, electric lamps, gypsum building products, fiberglass, pulp and wood pulp is raised by 22.3% to Br464.2 ($176.75) per 1,000 cubic meters. </p> <p> </p> <p> The gas price was reduced by 0.28% to Br441.56 ($168.13) per 1,000 cubic meters for producers of cotton and linen fabrics; increased by 22.3% to Br270.78 ($103.1) for producers of wool fabric of worsted fibers; increased by 22.3% to Br355.72 ($135.45) per 1,000 cubic meters for producers of wool fabric of carded fibers. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price for car manufacturers (except for engines) increased by 22.3% to Br631.83 ($240.58), rubber tires – by 22.3% to Br477.09 ($181.66) per 1,000 cubic meters. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price for Belarusian sugar refineries rose by 1.92% year on year to Br386.83 ($147.29) per 1,000 cubic meters in January 2021, by 22.3% to Br679.07 ($258.57) after January 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The gas price for producers of limestone, gypsum and chalk rose by 78.93% to Br541.56 ($206.214) per 1,000 cubic meters. </p> <p> </p> <p> For legal entities that consume more than 600 million cubic meters of gas per year, the price increased by 25.8% to Br410.3 ($156.23); for producers of nitrogen fertilizers – by 22.31% to Br386.83 ($147.28) per 1,000 cubic meters. </p> <p> </p> <p> The gas price was raised by 23.93% to Br408.42 ($155.51) per 1,000 cubic meters for the residents of the Chinese-Belarusian Great Stone Industrial Park, residents of Bremino-Orsha Special Economic Zone and for the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation. </p> <p> </p> <p> The price is set separately for organizations with dormitories, religious organizations, organizations that use natural gas for family-type orphanages, children’s villages (towns) and children’s hospices. If individual gas heaters are not installed there, the cost per cubic meter of gas, including VAT, is set at Br0.484 ($0.184). If individual gas heaters are installed, the price will be the same in summer, while during the heating period from January 1 to May 31, it will be at Br0.1366 ($0.432), from June 1 to December 31 – Br0.1406 ($0.535). </p> <p> </p> <p> The resolution came into force upon its official publication, and shall apply to relations arising from January 1, 2021.
