Belarus will increase sugar production by 9.4% year on year in 2021 to 580,000 tons, the press service of the Belgospischeprom Concern reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian sugar industry enterprises - Skidel Sugar Refinery (Grodno Oblast), Slootsk Sugar Refinery (Minsk Oblast), Gorodeya Sugar Refinery (Minsk Oblast), Zhabinka Sugar Refinery (Brest Oblast) - started processing new sugar beet in September. Total sugar production in 2021 is planned for about 580,000 thousand tons, while the domestic market demand is about 360,000 tons per year. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2020, Belarus’ sugar production declined by 22% year on year to 530,000 tons.
