Belarus to guarantee reimbursement of individual entrepreneurs' deposits up to Br100,000 - bill
<p> MINSK, Oct 4 - PrimePress. Belarus will introduce a guaranteed compensation for bank deposits of individual entrepreneurs, setting a limit on the compensation amount at Br100,000 ($39,760 at the rate of National Bank of Belarus). This is one of the provisions of the draft law “On Amendment of Laws” (compensation of bank deposits), adopted in the second reading by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 4 Oct, said the press service of the lower chamber of Belarus’ parliament. </p> <p> </p> <p> The document further regulates a number of issues which are important for the correct application of the relevant innovations: the procedure for the reimbursement of individual entrepreneurs, including when they hold several bank deposits, as well as in cases where they simultaneously place funds in a bank on deposit accounts which are not related to entrepreneurial activities. </p> <p> </p> <p> It also increases from two to five years the period of time during which an individual may apply for reimbursement of a bank deposit.
