Belarus’ telecom cos’ net profit up 0.4% in Jan 2021 to Br69.6m

Belarusian telecom companies’ net profit increased by 0.4% year on year in Jan 2021 to Br69.6 million ($26.5 million at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of telecom services decreased twofold year on year in Jan 2021 to $11 million; the import was down 33.3% to $7.6 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Telecom companies’ margins on sales of products, works and services were down to 37.5% in Jan 2021 to compare with 42.1% in Jan 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Tariffs for postal services rendered to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs increased in Jan-Feb 2021 by 2.9% year on year; long-distance telephone services – by 1.9%; local telephone services – unchanged. Tariffs for cellular telecommunication services increased by 3.6%. End </p>
