Belarus’ sugar export up 55.1% in Jan-Mar 2021 to 42,231 tonnes

Belarus increased sugar export by 55.1% year on year in Jan-Mar 2021 to 42,231 tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, sugar export reduced by 17.6% yoy in Jan-Mar 2021 to $22.402 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus supplied 41,486 tonnes of sugar to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (down 52.4% y/y) worth $22.029 million (down 11.9%). Russia accounted for 29,021 tonnes (down 40.4%) worth $15.525 million (up 11.7%), Kazakhstan – 8,731 tonnes (down 70.2%) worth $4.456m (down 46.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus exported sugar in Jan-Mar 2021 at an average price of $530 per tonne, up 83.5% y/y. The price for the CIS averaged $531 per tonne (up 85.2%), countries outside the CIS – $501 per tonne (up 57%). End </p>
