Belarus’ retail sales up 4.7% on yr in Jan-Apr 2020 to Br16.5bn
<p> MINSK, May 18 – PrimePress. Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went up by 4.7% on the year in January-April 2020 to Br16.5 billion ($6.75 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-Apr 2020 totalled Br14.5 ($5.9) to compare with Br13.2 ($5.4) in Jan-Apr 2018. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.4%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.6%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies grew by 6.3% in Jan-Apr 2020 to Br15.1 billion ($6.17bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew 4.2% year on year in 2019 to Br49.3 billion ($20.2bn).
