Belarus’ retail sales up 2.9% on yr in Jan-Jul 2020 to Br29.8bn

Belarus’ retail turnover, including the public catering sector, went up by 2.9% on the year in January-July 2020 to Br29.8 billion ($12.1 billion at the central bank’s exchange rate) in comparative prices, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The per capita daily retail turnover in Jan-Jul 2020 totalled Br14.9 ($6.1) to compare with Br13.9 ($5.7) in Jan-Jul 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Of the total, trade organizations accounted for 91.6%; individual entrepreneurs and natural persons accounted for the rest (8.4%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The trade turnover of Belarus’ state-owned trading companies grew by 4.5% in Jan-Jul 2020 to Br27.3 billion ($11.1bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ retail sales grew 4.2% year on year in 2019 to Br49.3 billion ($20.1bn).
